Bye Bye Bush

Todd decided yesterday to tear out the huge juniper bush in the front yard. We have hated that bush from the time we first looked at the house, it was overgrown and ugly. We slowly started peeling back the ivy that was intertwined in it and were able to see the root system.

Todd took a chainsaw to the rest of it, tearing away at the million limbs it had that were impossible to get at from the outside. The bush was so huge that it over filled the truck bed and we had to tie the limbs in just to haul it away. After he finished this is what it looked like.

After:

Its pretty amazing the difference it made. (Please nevermind the toilet, we still need to haul it off to the dump) Now we are planning to grade the area to fix the water problems and create some more retaining walls to deal with the grade change. We will also be pulling out the horrible concrete sidewalk and putting in stone steps.
