Crazy busy

I knew things would get busy around Christmas time but didnt expect to have so little time. Christmas went well with virtually no drama which was nice. Its been crazy having the kids out of school, Jackson has been bored and keeping him busy was a challenge. School will be starting back up on Tuesday and I think we're all looking forward to it. Below is a picture of Todd & I at his grandmother's house on Christmas Eve.
Just before Christmas we got some really terrific news from Jackson's school. I had signed permission forms for him to be tested for the advanced program over a month ago and he had told me of a couple times they pulled him out of class for testing but didnt tell me much. He was already involved in the advanced reading classes and doing very well. We finally got a thick envelope in the mail and I recognized it instantly. He had passed the testing with flying colors and was accepted to the advanced program which would start on his first day back to school. I am absolutely thrilled beyond words that he will now be given a chance to do work that will challenge him and show what he really is capable of. Unfortunately, because he has ADHD his abilities were swept under the rug by ineffective and uncaring teachers and administrators, he became bored and didnt like school. This year however, he has a terrific teacher who is truly helping him succeed and keeping him engaged. The difference is like night and day! Im looking forward to learning more about what Jackson will be learning about and how his schedule will change. Ill be sure to post an update as we learn more.

Things are progressing with my pregnancy though some things are getting difficult already. Its tough getting socks and shoes on and sleeping has become very uncomfortable. Im spending most nights tossing and turning while attempting to stay off my back (the weight from the baby can cut off blood supply to my heart). I think Todd's even losing sleep because of me. Below are my 20 and 22 week photos, its amazing that in each picture I manage to look even bigger than the last. Im afraid that by the end I may topple over from being so front heavy! For Christmas I got the first things we have gotten for the baby, 2 cute outfits. Yesterday, I did some more shopping for the baby on the clearance rack at Babys R Us and got some great deals, even a cute pair of pants for $.50! I also spent some time updating my registry since my friend Kim is throwing me a baby shower on February 1st. Im looking forward to it since it will be my 1st one.

Next up is a pretty big milestone, 24 weeks is when most doctors and hospitals consider the baby viable and when they would be willing to try to save our bug if I were to go into early labor. Ill be relieved once we reach that big day, only 2 weeks to go!
