This weekend's project was painting Jackson's room. (Please forgive the bad pictures, his room never gets enough light) It was raining most of Saturday so no outdoor projects for us. Too bad (yah right). So off to Lowe's we went searching for colors to match Jackson's new jungle theme quilt, sheets and accessories. We started looking at several different colors. I already had a sand/taupe type color in mind. I had already pictured buying cute, inexpensive frames and spray painting them the other colors in his quilt to pull the other colors out. But, if you know Todd, you can probably guess what he thought. He didnt like the "plain" color I had picked, it was boring and not very cool for a kid's room. He wanted something bright (read: obnoxious). So we searched on, finally meeting in the middle and deciding that we would do an accent wall in a dark orange that also matched his quilt and the rest in the sand color. Is that a compromise or what?
Of course, neither of us have really painted much before and little did we know what a pain in the butt it would be trying to get 2 colors to meet up nicely in the corners.

Lets just say that we wont be doing 2 colors in a room again anytime soon. The orange wall went up first and I didnt really like it, Todd loved it. That figures. We put on a 2nd coat and it began to look better. Then we started putting on the sand color and it all began to come together. Todd even remarked several times at how much he liked the color. For our first attempt at painting I dont think we did too bad, we definately have some things to learn about cutting in corners, etc. Maybe we will do another bedroom before we venture out into territory that other people will see.
Cute Kid!!!
